 \n\n\nIf you’ve been looking to adopt a grateful dog or cat\, there
 ’s no better time! Beginning Thursday\, May 26 through Sunday\, May 29\,
  the Kentucky Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for dogs weighing ov
 er 40 pounds and for cats age one year and older.\n\n\n\nThe adoption spec
 ial will take place at the Sam Swope Pet TLC (also known as Main Campus) l
 ocated at 241 Steedly Drive and at the East Campus adoption center\, locat
 ed at 1000 Lyndon Lane. Cats located at the&nbsp\;Purrfect Day Cafe&nbsp\;
 will not be included in the adoption special.\n\n\n\nThe KHS adoption fee 
 for dogs over 40 pounds is usually $200 and the adult cat adoption fee is 
 $80\, so the event offers significant savings for families and individuals
  who are looking to adopt their new best friend. Jefferson County resident
 s who choose to adopt will still be required to pay a $10.50 licensing fee
 . Donations are gratefully accepted!\n\n\n\nVisit our adoptable animals at
  the Main Campus weekdays from 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and weekends 11:00
  a.m. – 4:30 p.m. No appointment is required. Adoption application submi
