Will Work for (cat) Food!
Got a rodent problem in your barn, horse stable, warehouse, garage or garden shed? You need a KHS Working Cat!
Kentucky Humane Society has healthy cats who would love to be put to work! All cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. You only need to provide daily food and water, protection from the elements and long-term care. After a short period of secure confinement, the cats should accept their new barn home.
In return for your care, Working Cats will help keep rodents away from grain and food storage areas. Not only will you enjoy watching these cats work, you will be providing them a much-needed home.
And, because these cats are already spayed or neutered, you won’t have to worry about litters of kittens appearing!
How to Adopt a Working Cat
Working Cats are cats who are not appropriate for home adoption but thrive in suitable indoor/outdoor homes, such as barns, warehouses or garages. We do not actively accept cats into this program. Instead, this program offers cats who are deemed not appropriate for home life another route to adoption. To adopt a Working Cat, fill out our Working Cat Application.
