Dundee is a handsome, solidly built Kentucky Mountain horse with solid feet and plenty of bone to get him through many future adventures. He was collected as a free-roaming feral stallion in September of 2024 in the mountainous region of eastern Kentucky.
Dundee is now a gelding and is currently in training with Metcalfe Equine in Wilmore, KY. He has become a horse that doesn't mind being caught, comes into his stall mannerly, and is working on lots of groundwork to make him a more adoptable guy. He's really becoming a sweet fella. Because he lived much of his life as a feral horse, Dundee would love if his adopter can keep in mind that some things most owners take for granted may be new to him or a bit scary. He's willing to learn new things, just doesn't need to be over faced as we've worked to build his confidence in people.
Dundee is ready to move forward in his training, but is the kind that likes to have a full understanding of each step of training before moving on to the next thing. He has been saddled but has not yet been ridden. If Dundee sounds right up your alley, please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or you can find our adoption application and other adoptable horses on our page here: https://www.kyhumane.org/adopt/adoptable-horses
