It is with broken hearts that we let you know sweet Iris has passed away. Earlier this week, our veterinary team was preparing her for spay surgery when we found multiple tumors all over her body. Upon examination, we discovered she was battling cancer – an aggressive form that had quietly spread throughout her body. Knowing that the future would only hold more pain for this poor, resilient pup, we made the loving decision to help Iris cross over. With tears in our eyes, we stroked her fur, kissed her face, and thanked her for the love she shared with us all.
While we’re heartbroken to have lost her, we find peace in knowing that Iris spent the last months of her life blanketed in the unconditional love she deserved. Please hold our staff and Iris’s foster parents close to your hearts as we grieve this momentous loss together. Iris left a paw print-sized mark on our hearts that will last forever, and we will forever be grateful that supporters like you made her journey possible.
