Give for Good Boys like Rigel Michael, Labracadabra, Bert & Ernie

Make Happy Ever Afters Happen – Donate Now

We are in the home stretch of Give for Good Louisville. Thank you so much to all who have already supported KHS today! As our city’s largest online giving day comes to a close, we ask that you please dig deep to support the animals of KHS as they search for happily-ever-afters – animals like Rigel Michael, Labracadabra and Bert & Ernie.

Rigel Michael was born in 2024 at our Willow Hope Farm to a former free-roaming mare, Sky. Once weaned, he spent time in a foster home at the Boys’ and Girls’ Haven, where he picked up additional skills and helped children learn about horses. Now, he’s adopted and lives with a fellow KHS alum, who’s acted as his mentor as he continues to grow. Your donations helped this handsome boy move onward and upward!

Labracadabra spent over nine months in at KHS, watching his canine friends leave him behind as they found forever homes. Staff, fosters and volunteers alike rallied behind him to ensure he stayed happy and healthy while awaiting his happily ever after. He went everywhere from the state fair to sleepovers with staff, and even acted as the weatherman on the news! His perfect match finally came along on a sunny afternoon, and Labracadabra never looked back. He now has a canine brother named Murphy and together, they bring endless amounts of love and laughter to their family.

Bert and Ernie, a bonded pair of FIV positive kitties, came to KHS in January. Knowing these boys thrived on one another’s company, we promised them they’d stay together for the rest of their days. It took some time to find their perfect placement, but we never gave up. Months later, their human finally walked through our doors and fell head-over-heels with Bert and Ernie’s bond. The rest is history. Now these sweet boys get to spend their days soaking up sunshine together!

These happy tails – along with countless more – are made possible by supporters like you, who donate to support our lifesaving mission. Donate to KHS through our Give for Good page by midnight tonight and help thousands more animals as they search for families of their own. Every donation helps us compete for prize money but most importantly, every gift impacts vulnerable animals in our city and beyond.
