Willy Update 7/25/2025

Willy recently underwent eye enucleation surgery after arriving at KHS with a severely infected eye. His sutures have been removed, and we’re very pleased with how he’s progressed since going to foster. Willy has even found a fast friend in a fellow foster cat, Momo!
Despite all he’s been through, Willy seems to be adjusting to life with one eye well and just needs a bit more time in his foster home to fully heal before he’s ready for adoption. Momo’s companionship seems to give him the confidence he needs to thrive. Every day, they play and zoom around their foster home before curling up for a snuggly nap. Their friendship warms our hearts and gives us hope that Willy will not only make a full recovery but will one day be the perfect addition to someone’s family. Thank you for cheering this sweet baby on as he recovers! Please continue donating in his honor so we can be there for every animal like Willy who needs our help.

Willy Needs Your Help 7/17/2025

Willy, a tiny one-month-old kitten, arrived at our Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center with a shocking injury to his right eye. His eye was weeping with infection and bulging out of its socket, causing him unimaginable pain. Upon his arrival, we quickly began examining his injuries and administering pain medication and antibiotics. But before we could craft a plan of care, poor Willy’s eye ruptured from the immense pressure caused by the rampant infection in his little body.

We pivoted and prepped Willy for surgery, knowing that an emergency enucleation procedure was the only way to keep this kitten from going septic. After successfully removing the diseased eye, we were able to flush out large amounts of infection from his wounds. Willy’s pain is being managed, and he remains in good spirits despite the pain he’s been enduring. For now, he will rest in a loving foster home as he adjusts to life with one eye. Please support animals like Willy by donating today. Your gift ensures we can be there for every vulnerable animal who comes through our doors, no matter what they may need. Thank you!
