Olive Update 7/31/2025
Our sweet baby Olive is still taking slow but steady steps towards healing. Her little body is working overtime to fight off infection and support her immune system. Olive’s skin is less swollen and sensitive than it was last week, with her eyes opening more as the infections wane.
Now that Olive is stable, we’ve sent her to a loving foster home to continue recovering. She even has a foster sibling who’s been battling similar ailments, and they’ve become fast friends. Olive will continue receiving frequent medicated baths, along with daily rounds of pain medication and antibiotics. This will help her remain comfortable and infection-free as her body continues down the road to recovery. We are hopeful she may avoid eye enucleation surgery but only time will tell. For now, we are grateful to know that Olive is surrounded by people – and pups – who love her dearly and will cheer her on throughout her healing journey. Olive Needs Your Support 7/25/2025
Our girl Olive has made slow but steady improvements since first arriving at our Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center. Though her condition is still considered critical, she seems more comfortable than she was upon arrival and opens up to our staff more each day.
We’re continuing to provide Olive with oral and topical medication to combat pain and infection, while also giving her daily medicated baths. Her eyes seem slightly less swollen now that she has medicine coursing through her body, but it will take a little more time before we can determine whether or not she’ll require enucleation surgery. For now, Olive is getting all of the tender loving care she desperately needs and deserves. Please continue supporting animals like her by donating in her honor today.
