Spirit Update 10/14/2025
Spirit is on the road to recovery after undergoing amputation surgery earlier this week. Though the break in her leg was too severe for us to mend, her young age and resilient nature will work in her favor as she continues to heal.

We’ve prescribed Spirit pain medication and antibiotics so she remains infection and pain-free. We also found her a loving foster home where she’ll be able to peacefully adjust to three-legged life. We’re hopeful that soon, her name will ring true and she’ll be a perky, spirited puppy again. In the meantime, please continue supporting our lifesaving work for animals like Spirit by donating using the button below. Your support directly impacts our community’s most vulnerable animals by helping us provide them with the compassionate care they deserve. Thank you!

Spirit Needs Your Support – 10/22/2025

A local shelter reached out earlier this week in need of a loving place for an injured puppy to land. With an obviously broken leg, she was in constant pain and unable to comfortably walk. We lovingly named this pup Spirit and promised her that we’d do everything in our power to help her feel better.

At first, we’d hoped to find a way to save Spirit’s leg due to her young age. Unfortunately, x-rays revealed a severe break in her humerus that would not be able to fully heal over time and would likely continue to cause her problems as she grows bigger. We will proceed with amputation surgery in order to ensure Spirit gets a fair chance at a pain-free, healthy life. For now, she is in the best of hands getting all of the tender loving care she desperately needs and deserves. We will update you on her progress but until then, please donate in Spirit’s honor so that we can continue welcoming animals in need with open arms.
